The Church
HISTORY
Northeast Houston Baptist Church (NEHBC) began on 9.8.02 with Pastor Nathan Lino as her church planter. A local church 12 miles away gave 110 of her members and significant seed money to help launch NEHBC. NEHBC began meeting in an elementary school. Today, NEHBC owns 30 acres of prime land at a central location in the Kingwood-Humble-Atascocita community and has recently completed her second major building project. NEHBC ministers to over 1,000 people each week and has annual receipts of $2,500,000.
THEOLOGY/POLITY
NEHBC is a pastor/staff led, congregationally approved, Southern Baptist local church. NEHBC is uniquely aligned with the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention (SBTC) in
VISION/PASSION
NEHBC exists to make disciples by winning the lost and discipling the saved. (Matthew 28:18-20)
Winning the lost: From a proactive evangelism strategy locally, to planting significant, local churches across the northern arch of Houston, to ongoing ministry in the 5th Ward—Houston’s most populated ghetto, to 12 mission trips/year throughout the world, to long term church planting commitments in Estonia and Thessaloniki, Greece, to families surrendering to full time missions, to giving 23% of her annual receipts to missions, NEHBC has an undeniable passion to win the lost.
Discipling the saved: NEHBC believes the bible is central to discipleship. From the pulpit, where we practice verse by verse preaching through books of the bible, to the bible study class where the bible is studied book by book, to our Center for Biblical Counseling where we practice nouthetic counseling, we believe the bible is the final authority on all matters of faith and practice and sufficient for dealing with all life issues.
