"And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, 'All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.  Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.'"
Matthew 28:18-20

WHO ARE WE?

We consider ourselves to be a Great Commission church.  By that we mean the Great Commission, found in Matthew 28:18-20, is our mission statement. (1) The head of our church is Jesus Christ (2) The purpose of our church is making disciples (3) Our 3 fold approach is evangelism, bible teaching and prayer.

Evangelism

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit." Matthew 28:19

We believe the Bible teaches that before a person can be baptized, they must first make the decision to surrender their life to Jesus Christ.  Salvation must come before baptism.  As a result we believe the local church and individuals should be driven by evangelism.

Bible Teaching

"teaching them to observe all that I commanded you" Matthew 28:20

Clearly, the Bible is to be taught systematically and in its entirety.  We believe that the Bible is completely trustworthy and without error (inerrant).  We believe it provides sufficient counsel for every life situation.  As a result, we believe the local church, families and individuals should be built on the Bible.

Prayer

"And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:20

Jesus Christ offered His constant presence to empower, energize and guide our efforts to win the lost and disciple the saved.  The only means by which we have to access His presence is through prayer.  As a result, we believe the local church is to be sustained through prayer.

Northeast Houston will be driven by evangelism, built on the Bible, and sustained through prayer.

WHAT DO WE BELIEVE?

As a Southern Baptist church, we recognize the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as our statement of beliefs.
