POTTER'S WHEEL
Sunday Mornings, 9:00AM & 1o:30AM
Kindergarten to 5th Grade
Kandy Hall, Director
It is our desire to make the Bible come alive to the children, and we do this by implementing a rotation model. The model is designed to take children through a Bible story using different learning styles. In this environment kids rotate from room to room learning different aspects of the same story in a different way for several weeks. Our rotation sites include a computer lab, a movie room, a drama set, a craft workshop, a kitchen workshop, a science lab and a music studio.
In Potter's Wheel, the kids are assigned a shepherd who meets them in their rotation site each week and builds relationships with the children. The shepherds stay with the same group of children for the entire year. Our Potter's Wheel teachers work hard to make sure that they not only teach the Bible story and lesson, but that the children know how to apply it to their own lives. Potter's Wheel is the same both hours to allow the children to attend worship with their parents. Rotation schedules are available in the Potter's Wheel hallway. Children are divided by grade level into rooms, and you will find the rooms clearly marked with the grade levels each Sunday.
ENCOURAGING KIDS TO READ THE BIBLE
Kids in our Potter's Wheel students are encouraged to spend quiet time with God. This is crucial to the spiritual growth of any believer. Children are provided with journals and reading plans to encourage daily Bible reading. Beginning August 22nd, children will receive weekly Bible reading plans. Initially they will be provided with a journal. When the fill their journal with notes from their Bible reading and quiet time, they simply show the completed journal to their shepherd and will receive a new journal. This program is available for any child K-5th grade.
