PRAYER MINISTRY
Element_3256a.jpg

Prayer is one of the three pillars of our church.  NEHBC is driven by evangelism, governed by the Bible, and sustained through prayer.  Below, you will find the different components of our prayer strategy.

"Round the Clock" Prayer Updates

The prayer ministry maintains an updated and active email prayer chain.  Often, within minutes of a submitted prayer request, hundreds of people have received the request and have begun to pray.  We continue to be amazed at the miracles God has performed through our prayer chain.

Church-Wide Prayer Guide

This guide is handed out in each of our adult Sunday morning Bible study classes and is available for pick up in the prayer room.  In each of our four weekly worship services, you may submit a prayer request for the church-wide prayer guide.  Simply fill out the white card with your prayer request and drop it in the offering bag at the end of each service.

Weekly Prayer Gathering

Our prayer room is located on the second floor in the north hallway.  Every Sunday morning we hold a "come and go" church-wide prayer gathering in our prayer room from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.  We encourage those who attend NEHBC to spend some time in the prayer room each Sunday morning.  Some people will stay for up to an hour; others stay only a few minutes.  Some people pray standing, some sitting, some kneeling, and some lying down.  Some pray out loud, and some pray silently.  Though each of us may pray in a different posture, one thing is certain - we strongly believe that NEHBC's ability to keep "winning the lost and discipling the saved" can only be sustained through prayer.

Community-Wide Prayer Gatherings

Once or twice a year, NEHBC hosts community-wide prayer gatherings.  Every church in the community that believes faith in Jesus Christ alone is the way to Heaven is invited.  Together, we pray for the Christians in our community to submit to God's call to personal holiness and for the Lord to bring a spiritual awakening to the city of Houston.  These prayer gatherings usually last 75 minutes and have an organized order of worship involving praise and worship music, times of silent prayer and corporate prayer led by various pastors from the community.  These periodic community-wide prayer gatherings have been a tremendous success.
