August: Our Purpose

Make Disciples

NEHBC exists to make disciples of as many people as we can before it’s too late for them and the Kingdom of God, per Christ’s command in Matthew 28:18-20. The Great Commission also tells us how to make disciples. Per the passage, the two marks of a disciple of Jesus Christ are: 1. They have given their life to Him and made that decision public through New Testament baptism. 2. They have placed themselves under the teaching of the entire counsel of God’s Word, the bible. Finally, Matthew 28:20 notes that it’s Christ’s presence that empowers believers to make disciples. The only access we have to His presence is through prayer. Prayer empowers disciple making. Therefore, NEHBC’s strategy for making disciples is to be driven by evangelism, built on bible teaching and sustained through prayer.

Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all for the glory of God.”
1 Corinthians 10:31
